"Sir," Jushirou snapped to attention, his stance rigid and his eyes forward. He too had noticed the great number of odd happenings beyond his own experiences with the Hyorinmaru incident. He harbored so many of his own suspicions, particularly against Ichimaru, but for now he would remain silent. He had said enough on the matter to Tear...

"Of course," Nikolas replied gruffly from the back of the room. He didn't expect to have much to add to the conversation, really... he wasn't the sort to riddle out mysteries and intrigue unless he had some personal stake in the matter... too many years of covert service had soured him on the whole experience. These days, he preferred to be 'hands on' in dealing with problems, but he could understand the need to figure out what was going on on the ship as soon as possible.

"Present, sir," Agrias replied, sitting up straight and attentive in her seat at the table. It wasn't very often that the captain would call a meeting, so when one was called, it usually meant that something was amiss. She had an idea what they were going to talk about, but it seemed likely that new information was about to surface.

"I think it's safe to say no one would miss this, Alex." She sat in her own chair and leaned against the back of it.

There were a lot of things they had been putting off getting to the bottom to, and she wasn't going to be particularly satisfied until they had their answers.

Dead engineers, ice dragons, mechanical spiders. This was insane.

"Sir," Tear had responded to the captain's query, silencing as soon as the first mate had spoken.

There seemed to be a multitude of events that had occured over the past few days, but it wasn't entirely clear which one the captain wanted to address specifically - if there was even a particular matter he had in mind. Considering the recent situation with Hitsugaya, it would seem likely their meeting had something to do with the helmsman, but with the number of other issues that had risen, those were just as likely to come up as well.

Alex nodded at the assembled faces. "Very well, then. I'll begin."

"As I'm sure you've noticed," he began, "things have not been running very smoothly on board this ship recently. Things have been going wrong consistently, and in light of this, I think it is important that all officers are on the same page with regards to these problems. That is the purpose of this meeting."

He pulled a paper out of the folder that sat on the table in front of him, and laid it out flat. "The first item," he said, "is the mysterious death of Jean Morris. As we all know, he was one of the Drives technicians who fell in during a recent voyage. What makes this problematic is that Morris knew better than to get too close to the drive while it was in motion. In fact, he should not have even been in the engine room at that time: he was off-duty. Does anyone have thoughts on this incident?"
