Time: After L's become captain

Notes: Hey, this is the log for harassing the new captain. Come get a measure of him, ask for thingies, etc.
L sat in the Captain's office going over more paperwork and sorting more things into the 'not too urgent', 'urgent', 'very urgent' and 'why wasn't this done three weeks ago' piles. The paychecks of the crew, meager as they were, had them overextended right now. The take from 'Canary' had been good but, just enough to get everything squared away and the loans on the ship up to date.
Watari had messaged him back, clearly upset but understanding. Solving puzzles and mysteries was his life but -- he almost felt as though he was missing something and maybe he could find it here.
Now he was waiting for the crew to come and -- do whatever they did to new Captains. There might have been hazing involved. That's why he had a rather large candy dish on his desk, to stave off overzealous crew.
