"Minato, then no da," Chichiri said happily. "I came aboard around the same time as you, then." It was strange Chichiri hadn't seen the boy around, but he'd been pretty busy and things had been a big mess at the time. It was also strange that it didn't seem like anyone in their group knew much about engines. "I know a bit about lightning power, but I'm afraid I can't do much with an engine other than that." And that was assuming the engine even ran at all on lightning.
All three of his companions had reached an agreement to where the engine room would be located, so Chichiri just nodded, believing that they probably had a better idea of what they were doing. When the elevator stopped, Chichiri couldn't help but make a face at the sight in front of them. "It...It's kind of a dump, huh no da?" Well, this didn't look promising.
Once he was off the elevator, he was on the alert, searching for magic waves or traps or anything of the sort. "There's something down this corridor on the right. I can't tell what it is, so it's a ways away at the moment, but I think we would want to avoid that passageway if at all possible no da." He was having a hard time reading anything straight in front of them, and he wasn't really sure what that meant. It would probably be okay. A dead end at worst...probably.

Taking a step off the elevator, Tear quickly scanned her surroundings, her eyes narrowing slightly as she struggled to peer through the thin layer of darkness. She could faintly catch the sound of water dripping and the scratching of what she hoped were only rats, and she instantly felt her spine stiffen, her mind growing sharp with alert.
Glancing at Chichiri, she gave a slight nod as acknowledgement. Hopefully what he had detected wasn't a creature of some sort, as the captain had mentioned. Although, if so, she would be prepared to attack - as she was certain the others were as well.
"We'll head left then," she stated, as she started forward. Fortunately, her eyes were starting to adjust to the dim lighting, and she could have a better sense of her surroundings. There were two corridors, one leading right and another heading left. Considering how Chichiri had admonished against the former, it seemed best to take the latter.

Lightning? Minato guessed he wouldn't need Zio, then, unless something came up. It was best to figure out what would be more convenient for the salvage trip before he needed it. "I don't think the engine will be salvageable." He was just speaking his mind; the way the exterior of the ship looked, and now the interior, gave him no hope. Still, they might be able to recover parts from it. "For flight, anyways."
As he stepped out of the lift after the others, he considered what Nikolas said. Depending on how things looked when they got further in... "We might have to split up to find it." Despite his expression returning to a mostly neutral one, he didn't seem all to excited about that idea. He didn't doubt his new teammates, but he certainly didn't doubt the dangers in the ship.
Moving to the right of the group, he unsheathed his sword, taking it in both hands calmly. It was better to be safe than sorry, after all, and if there was something down that hall, Minato didn't want it to catch them off guard while they were going down the left corridor.

Nikolas nodded along with Minato's assessment. "I was thinking along the same lines. I don't think the ship would survive take-off, though I'm no engineer. Still, the Captain would like us to try. At worst, we disappoint him." Well, at worst, they could be torn limb from limb by something lurking down that corridor not take, or the whole ship could slide down the mountain with them in it... but it seemed unkind to bring those possibilities up at the present.
He peered into the dim corridor, quickly growing annoyed with the dimness of their surroundings. Thankfully, that was a problem he could solve with relative ease, and, channeling a little of the energy he always had in reserve, the gloom was soon lifted somewhat by a soft blue glow that seemed to emanate right from his skin. ...it was more than just a party trick, though... this way he was more prepared to hit anything that suddenly sprung up.

The sight of Nikolas glowing blue disheartened Chichiri a bit. Were they all magicians? Hopefully Minato's sword wasn't just for show. Chichiri was a big caster, but he wasn't exactly quick on his feet, and he had always assumed other mages were the exact same way. Small spells were quick to cast, but they would probably not get the job done on a larger monster.
Actually, now that he thought about it, he wasn't exactly sure what Tear was capable of. From their chats, he knew she had some magical experience, but he didn't know to what extent. She was a smart girl, so it was possible she could have just picked up some magic just for information sake.
While Chichiri was deep and thought, he had completely forgotten to pay attention to the menacing life force that he had felt coming down one of the corridors. By the time he regained his guard, he felt the aura was a lot closer and closing in behind them pretty quickly. "Something's coming," Chichiri said quietly, pulling his staff closer to him. "It's coming fast."

Arisato's suggestion was exactly what had come up in her mind just earlier. Splitting up was an adequate idea, but the only problem would be the difficulty they may face with any approaching enemies. She didn't doubt all of them were capable of handling themselves, but if a multitude should assault them...
Chichiri's voice, laced with urgency, suddenly pierced Tear's thoughts, and she instantly switched her attention to focus on the predicament on hand. Almost immediately, she took a step back, her hands hovering by her side in preparation of drawing her knives. "Stay alert," she stated, firmly, in a lowered voice. "Be prepared for a fight." It would do no good to retreat for this imminent approach, and, not to mention, if they couldn't deal with this presence, there would be no use in proceeding. They'd just be overwhelmed by the other creatures that lurked within the Montague's depths.
Concentrating for any noises that indicated the proximity of the creature, all she could catch was the sound of wind - or, rather, what resembled wind. Perhaps it was the flap of wings? Regardless, she discovered the information she required. It was most likely a monster, one capable of flying and was heading directly towards them.
Without another moment's hesitation, she pivoted on her heel, her fingers dexterously withdrawing three knives from the garter hidden beneath the slit of her dress. Imbuing them with her fonic artes, she hastily flung them to the ground. A glyph appeared in an explosion of incandescent light, partly illuminating the creature that had just about reached them. It held an appearance similar to a hybrid of a dragon and snake, its tail being as long as a thick rope, while its face bore ivory, wolf-like fangs. A strange, viscous substance seemed to compose its scales, as if it were comprised of some sort of radioactive slime. It had not a single limb, hovering clearly off the ground without any form of support. If it had wings, they must had been submerged in the small amount of remaining darkness that still enshrouded the corridor.
Of course, as intimidating as its appearance was, the more ominous factor would be the way it started across her glyph, barely heeding the singe it should have delivered. Apparently, magic - at least, those average in strength - would not be very effective.
"Here it comes!" she exclaimed, swiftly beginning to pull out another knife.

(My apologies for holding everybody up, guys. Holidays and whatnot. D: )
Nikolas' glow was momentarily surprising, though Minato didn't let it show on his face as he nodded to what he said. He'd seen a lot, working with S.E.E.S., but never someone who had an ability to glow. Either way, it would prove to be helpful to their mission, so he hardly paid it any mind after it started, and instead followed them down the hall that Chichiri deemed safe without a word.
Until Chichiri brought the creature's presence to attention. Turning to look behind them, he took one hand off the hilt of his sword to reach and undo the clasp on the holster to his Evoker. If his sword wouldn't be enough to help them, then he'd better have his primary ready to go. He watched Tear as she threw the knives down, curiously observing her magic and the glyph that appeared as a result. He'd never seen something like the fonic artes before- similar, with the general idea of glyphs- and he thought of what his old team would say to him working with a variety of magics.
But it didn't seem to do much to the monster that appeared, aside from illumination, and Nikolas had them covered in that area. Brows knitting and mouth drawing into a tight line, he concentrated for a moment. Underneath the sound of the enemy approaching, the faint noise of something like glass shattering came up, as Minato changed his Persona wordlessly. He would try out Fortuna's ice and wind attacks first, if he had to resort to summoning someone.
Returning his hand to his sword, he watched it closely, waiting for it to come closer. Launching in without seeing something of its movements wouldn't be beneficial.
