Characters: Kambei Shimada & Naoto Fuyumine[Closed]
Content: The long awaited duel between Shimada Kambei and Fuyumine Naoto.
Setting: Deck of the 4423
Time: Dawn, early morning
Warnings: PG-13
Dawn could not come soon enough for the samurai who now meditated in the corner of the expansive deck, his sheathed katana resting within his arms. His eyes where closed shut as if he was sleeping but for anyone who may be watching him, Kambei Shimada is obviously not asleep for his mind wanders aimlessly about the duel that shall take place. He was interested in Naoto from the start, wondering if this woman made it habit to challenge anyone aboard the 4423 who happen to own a blade. Since that night she battled Kyuzo within the blanket of darkness, Kambei began to question if his skills are up to par with the two combatants.
It has been awhile since he actually brandished the steel of his katana against anyone, the thrill of combat singing his name; beckoning him to return to the battlefield. He wanted to nothing else other than battle this woman with the sword that has no name. Hoping their blades can clash throughout the entire morning until the two of them are too haggard to continue. Despite the duel that Kambei knows he owes Kyuzo, he did not wish to cross blades yet with the crimson clad samurai. He knew the next time they ever draw their swords towards each other again, that one of them shall fall.
Therefore, instead of risking his life on a single bout with Kyuzo, Kambei opted to fulfill his lust for combat by having a spar with the highly skilled Naoto instead. There is still much for Kambei to accomplish in this life, Kyuzo will simply have to wait until that time finally arrives. In the meanwhile, Kambei certainly hoped that the brooding samurai would come and become an audience to reminisce in what it is like to battle at your heart’s content.
