Despite its great size and general roominess, Ikkaku always hated being cooped up on the Silvana for any length of time. It simply wore on him, having to spend so much time around so many people, all of them looking to him for answers, making requests, asking questions, generally giving him nothing but a headache for all they were worth. Worst of all, he had no way to relieve himself of all this pressure, because doing so for someone like Ikkaku meant letting loose, and there was no easy way to do this on board without shaking the entire ship to pieces. He had to get out once in a while and try to enjoy himself a little, lest he explode.
Melior offered him that chance, and once he had settled things with the docking crew, fulfilling the duties of his position and ensuring that everyone knew what needed to be done, he was free to go about his own business inside the city.
Melior was certainly a cultural paradise, offering all manner of new and innovative creations; some of these caught his interest, some didn't. He was simply content to enjoy his freedom, wandering the streets one by one while peering inside the open windows to the shops he passed along the way.
"Hmm?" he softly wondered aloud, stopping in place; something had caught his eye inside a store he had nearly passed by. Taking a few steps back, he glanced inside, cupping his hands around his eyes against the window to block out the reflections in its surface. Ornately crafted, a set of palm-sized tea cups sat inside on display, boasting a flawless floral design painted intricately along the smooth sides.
Jushirou would drool over these, he thought to himself, chuckling a little. If he picked them up for his colleague, Jushirou might just owe him a favor he could cash in later. Pacing over to the doorway, Ikkaku entered quickly and made his way straight to the display to pick it up. He certainly seemed a little out of place within the quaint shop and its fine wares, but he'd be in and out as quickly as he could, then head back to the ship temporarily to drop off his gift.
