So, Denouement and the Philosophers have let Serenity off the hook, but not before they took one of their own back into the flock. Is Serenity going to take this standing down?

Not if the captain has anything to say about it.Anyway, this is the preliminary planning for Kaoru's rescue. Before they can bust down doors and play the role of Big Damn ( Read more... )

In the event that a group needs someone to be particularly unsubtle while they do the subtle jazz, Reno is good for that.

This one can help maintain radio contact with people.

Also if you need someone with social skills, look no farther. :3c

Dean needs to look for signs of his dad, anyway, per his personal storyline. He's not terribly subtle, but if someone needs some company to a bad part of town, Dean is ready to rumble.

Bydan is Hisoka's hometown. He will contact the militia he and his dad belong to, the Bydan-Licere Volunteers. This is a coalition of shipwrights, timber workers, merchants, martial artists, port officials, and dockworkers. They know Bydan and the surrounding area and have many informal and unoffical information sources and contacts within the city and the port. They can find out quickly what ships are currently in dock, who owns them, the names of crew, what cargo they are carrying, where they are from and where they are going. They are very discreet and will not inform the Bydan Police. They will also offer backup if Captain Reynolds wishes it.

Officially, there are shipments of mana crystals, steam engines, scrap metal, and other building supplies, along with dried goods and other simple foodstuffs. If the paperwork is looked over, they'll find that they all are to be delivered to one Doctor Franz Forrestor...one of the names connected to Serenity's last job. If asked, the mana crystals and machinery are for what's supposed to be environmental research. That's also not accounting for black market goods delivered under the radar or hidden as other kinds of shipments.

In all cases, deliveries are to be made from the ship to a location on the outskirts of Bydan. As of note, deliveries have been made to this location off and on for about half a year at this point. While several of the deliveries have all ready been made, it may be possible to catch the rest beforehand. There are also some black market dealings they may be able to look into, but that goes for a few members of Serenity as well.

Oh good. XD

Questions:

1) Are all these shipments made by the same shipping company, or different ones?

2) Can Hisoka and his contacts come up with the exact address of this delivery location, or will somebody have to follow a delivery vehicle to the place in order to find it?

1) Different companies

2) Tailing will have to be in order. How do they plan on doing this?

Children being kidnapped for potential weaponry experimentation? Totally up Badou's street. It just so happens that his brother was snooping around such a case when he was 'killed'. He was initially investigating Kropmork, but that was like, nine years ago. There's nothing to say that the same people haven't just branched out.

I guess I'm saying I'm more than happy to work that into this somehow! Badou was, I suppose still is, an investigative journalist. He may seem reluctant to do some digging, but it may get him some more info on his brother, after all.

It might be possible that the case Badou's brother investigated is connected to the experiments Kaoru is a part of. Do you mind going into more detail about his brother's investigation?

Sure, um... In canon, it's all left rather open ended at the moment, as the Manga is ongoing, but a running theme is the experimentation on young, usually orphan children to either turn them into weapons, or make them more appealing to be used as prostitutes.

It's sort of hinted that Dave, Badou's brother, got some information on the kids being abducted and presumed it was in line with the prostitution gangs. But going by the fact that he was apparently murdered for getting too close (and with Badou losing an eye), it's assumed that he dug too deep into the Cerberus experiments. They're conducted by an Evil Scientist type woman, where big, scary implants are placed into the neck, and when triggered send the person wearing them Batshit Crazy ( ... )

In that case, go and have a talk with Jisu, and see what sort of connections would be appropriate. If he needs to do any footwork and needs some protection, check out the people who've posted here if you want to do a log (just hit us up if you need an NPC for it). However, while a log is optional, it isn't necessary. Either way, just have Badou keep in touch with the crew about what he knows.
