Mississippi Gulf Coast

We went to visit my grandmother today, and also to just look around at all the damage done there. I took some pics of stuff that I found particularly interesting. Here they are:

We started out driving through Pass Christian. This poor house just collapsed on itself:

This was just a huge pile of...everything in front of someone's house:

Then we headed down to the beach and saw the Pass Christian Harbor:

A boat had washed up. 'Good to Go'? Sadly, no:

We saw the remains of Pirate's Cove [only the BEST shrimp poboy MS had to offer]:

Also, this is St. Paul's Church. Lovingly nicknamed the Jesus Christ Superslide:

We then ventured into a neighborhood in Gulfport.

Care to go for a swim?:

This creeped me out a little. It's on the slab where someone's house was:

Toys and people's stuff were everywhere:

So, all in all, it was sad, but it was what I expected. I think the saddest part is that my grandma had no recollection of the hurricane, so when we were driving around she was really confused. Poor thing.

Also, RIP Sheila Duroncelet [Kelly's mother]. Me and my family's sympathies go out to you and your family, Kelz. We're so sorry.
