Sunstrokes give me Super Strength!!!! Naw, Just kidding.

Well, an obligitory Happy Independence day to all us Americans. It's not a holiday I get very excited for, and since I was out for the day, it felt even less like July 4th. Usually we just sit around my house, and it's very boring. Moreso now that we don't have Grandpa to celebrate with anymore. Plus, being the dirty Europe lover that I am, wit hall my evil expatriate desires, I'm not really too thrilled about a country that's filled with bumbling idiots and has basically zero culture. Where are all the old type, proud Americans with the true ideals that made this country great? Ben Franklin and George Washington were really awesome guys, don't get me wrong. I love our founding fathers and our history. But let's face it guys, these days we're the joke of the world. Have you SEEN how Americans are portrayed in anime and other media from abroad? Let's just say, it ain't pretty folks. But it's all true.

Oh, and the military! They rock too! I am a big supporter of the troops, regardless of if I agree with the war or not. So keep rocking on, troops! You guys are the most awesome people in this country.

So anyway, I went to a concert on Governer's Island today with Marytkatherine, thus making it four days in a row that we have seen each other. The concert itself was really awesome--the main band was She and Him. I had never heard their music, but they are Marykatherine's favorite band, and she invited me to go. I'm usually up for a concert, so I agreed. They turned out to be really awesome--not my usual genre of music but still really good. The drummer caught my attention by using timpani mallets ON HIS DRUM SET!!!! That was jsut cool and gave it a really unique sound. Sadly, I own neither a drum set or timpani mallets so that I could try this myself.

However, during the opening band I started to feel really weird. I was drinking water and that seemed to make it worse and then I started to get all the signs of fainting, which I am well familiar with since I used to have the most HORRENDOUS cramps every other month. Anyway, I knew it was bad when my vision started going and then my hearing, so I had to find a place to sit. Thankfully, we had VIP passes, so we could get into the VIP area, and there were chairs. I had to sit for a little bit and drink some more water before I could stand again. It was more obnosvious than anything else really, and I felt stupid cause this kind of thing never happens to me--I usually just tough it out and am fine. Marytkatherine said I probably had a heat stroke, but I don't think it was that serious. I probably just overheated or something.

The weird thing about the day was that Marykatherine barely spoke to me at all. In the car ride  was in the back seat, and her and her mother just talked the whole time, and then when we wre on the island she only spoke to me to say "I think we have to go this way" or something. Started a conversation was near impossible! It was hard to believe that just yesterday she was the same person that was laughing and talking with me freely as always. I mean, I figured he had seened each other 4 days in a row so there wouldn't be much to talk about, but she didn't even look at me all that much. I talked with her mom more than her. Maybe she was just in a bad mood...? If something was wrong, I'm sure she would tell me.

The other good news from today is that I got to talk with my friend Sid! We haven't seen each other since my freshman year, and I really hate that. We used to be really good friends my freshman year of college, but then my life just got in the way and I was so busy all the time, and he was only in Chicago on the weekends (he's actually from Carbondale, 5 hours south), and then we just fell a bit out of touch, just cause we got busy. But I hope I'll get to see him again! Even just talk would be great. He's one of the few other people I know who likes F1, and the only other Ferrari fan I know. Maybe I'll remember to give him a call for once this week.

But most importantly, I want to finish my script this week! I'm almost done with chapter 6 of 7....we'll see, I suppose.
