I'm taken back by a sight I've never seen before, by a feeling I've never felt before, by a taste I've never tasted before. I'm smiling so you can't see how much this hurts me. I love you and I've never really seen it before. Please don't hate me, I'm sorry I've never shown you. I'm sorry your chest pounds every morning when you wake up [you believe your life is going nowhere]. I miss all the days where I'd dream the sweetest dreams and be in the sweetest company, but this story isn't about that. This is about reality as it is now. Dead end roads with stop signs on every corner and speed bumps from here until the end. I can't drive fast and I can't imagine a pain worse then knowing I caused this. We all believe one day we are going to be something great. We belive everything is going to turn out right and that nothing bad can happen to us. As life goes on that belief starts to fade into the reality of a world where we have to lock our doors at night so people wont rob our houses while we sleep. We have to watch our backs while walking down the streets. What kind of world is it when freedom comes with a price? What kind of world is this?
