Just a few quick questions...

I have two questions and I hope someone will be able to provide me an answer. I've been trying to find one, but nothing, so I hope I won't be too much of a nuisance.
Ok, so, the questions:
1) Is there any way to "extract" sims from a neighborhood (megahood, to be precise), keeping all their memories, relationships etc. together? I've been meaning to extract them so I could delete all the downloads and everything else. Basically, to reformat the game but keep the sims (cause I couldn't stand doing all the stories again).
2) Connected to the first question:
what would happen if I decided to delete all the downloads, including clothes, hairstyles, etc.? Would that corrupt my sims beyond repair, leaving them all blue, or would it just change their hairstyles and clothes to something EA default?
