I'm sorry I dropped off the map, guys. I've been a bit Tumblr obsessed lately and have been bogged down by worsening depression. I think I need my meds increased again.
Nikkol and her husband were recommended for a sort of trial that her doctor's office and the CAMH are doing. It's called Pharmacogenetics. Essentially, they take a sample of your DNA, and through genetic testing they recommend what medications might work best for you.
"Genetic testing of your liver enzymes and other genes will give an idea of how quickly you will break down some antidepressant and antipsychotic medications, whether you might need a different dose than most people, and your likelihood of getting some side effects."
She gave me the contact information so I could see if I could get on this trial as well. I'm very interested to see where this goes and how successful it is.
We just had a long weekend because of Family Day, and it worked out great for Trevor because his birthday was today. He doesn't feel so hot turning 29, and I'm already feeling crap about turning 29 in July. He had a great birthday weekend, though.
Saturday: Went to Pho Xelua for dinner with Monica, Cathy, Liat, Alora, Rob, Dana, Adrian, Mike, and Cathy. Kent and Nicole couldn't make it, but they came to the house afterwards with all of us so we could party hardy. Fun times were had, as usual. Kent and Nicole bought Trev a cake and accidentally lit some of its decorations on fire because, well, 29 lit candles. Lol
Sunday: Trevor had a ton of birthday gift cards as well as the $200 in gift cards given to him by Ubisoft Toronto for beta-playing an upcoming game, so he went to Promenade Mall and got a Wii U, a game, a pink Wii Plus controller for me, and a blue silicone cover for the gamepad. We had a lot of fun with that!!
Today: After I made Trev a nice breakfast, we had his aunt, uncle, and Daniel over to watch WWE and play the Wii U. I made Trevor a chocolate fudge cake and we had chips and nachos as well. For dinner, we made rice noodles with red curry sauce and beef tips, then he and I rested in each other's arms for an hour or so. He officially went to bed shortly thereafter.
It's a short week now, and I should end this entry because I forgot what else I was going to write. Lol.
