I'm personally not celebrating Bin Laden's death, but I can't say that I DON'T feel relief at this justice. I like seeing patriotism, but I think we only bind together during major events like this when we should be patriotic (without being arrogant) 24/7.
*Scratches head* I'm not sure if that sounds offensive or not. I really didn't consider the cheering Americans to be akin to terrorists who do the same thing when an Allied person or people die, but now that I've sharply come down from the high of the announcement, I understand.
So I apologize to anyone who I may have offended. I hope that yet MORE negative light won't be shed onto American people by other countries because of these people celebrating and dancing in the streets, but it probably will (people on Twitter are already condemning the US for its jingoism and saying that it had no right to kill Bin Laden).
Not to mention possibly retaliation from al-Qaeda. *Sigh*
Everyone is celebrating, feeling justice as well as a sudden release of tension... I wish there was more decorum and not what looks like one giant frat party. But I really, REALLY hope the US and the Allies go into high alert. Right now I'm pretty scared of retribution but I may just be extremely paranoid with my usual worst-case-scenario thinking.
