So, I've had an exhausting and busy and perhaps even somewhat lucrative day. I had THREE interviews today.
Interview 1: King Tut Exhibit Cashier (Until October 5)
I'm almost positive I'll be hired. They hinted at the fact they wanted to hire me immediately and it was strongly implied I would be called back. *waves a little flag* So yay for that. It's 8.75 an hour or something, so that's good. At least I'll have some form of income coming in for the next month. They said they'd get back to me in a day or two. :)
Interview 2: Cashier at the Cafe in the Museum of Art
Less positive. I mean, it didn't go badly or anything, but I'm not going to hold any hope for it either. It went well enough but they made it clear they were still interviewing throughout the week and they weren't overly friendly (could just be the interviewer's personality though). Ah well. It would have been nice to get the benefits. I'm starting to run out of medication. >_>; Not good.
Interview 3: Office Clerk @ Freid Bros Inc
Well, rather than an interview this was more of a test. 3 frigging pages (at least) of essay like questions. And then math test on the spot where I was expected to calculate off the top of my head. Uh, yeah. My hopes kind of were lost as soon as I founf out there was a math test. HOWEVER! They offered me a different position anyway as a freelance graphic designer for them (I have a feeling that's what they were bringing me in for anyway and that they weren't planning to give me the office clerk position at all.
So, I set up a time next Wednesday to bring my laptop and my portfolio to show them I can do what they want. It would be part time/freelance and very flexible (Could work at home for the most part). So, uhm, yeah. This weekend I have to come up with a graphics oriented portfolio. *blinks* Not sure I'll be able to dig up my old graphics to give as an example. Oh well. It's an opportunity, so all I can do is try my best. What they want me to do is work on their catalog, updating it, adding on pages, that sort of thing. I don't really have experience in InDesign, but I rather doubt that I'll have that much difficulty with it. And it would look good on the resume. So, wish me luck for that.
I checked my schedule, and actually have a few hours work at B&BW for a change and updated my Drivers license while I was at it.
Now, I'm off to take a long and much deserved nap. My brain is mush.
