Writing Woes

So, I've been trying to write a couple of oneshots. They start off okay, but end up going in off-topic tangents and directions I don't want them to go in. While that's not always a bad thing, in this case it's more like rambling and isn't working out. Gah! It's so hard to get back into writing. And I feel like my story ideas are crap and have probably already been done before. But I like introspectives and have decided to write them anyway. So there. :P

Characterization is a bitch. I'm trying to branch out, but I miss writing characters I'm familiar with. These new characters are being troublesome.
