ZOMG! FYE FTW~!

So, this weekend I had a nice break. I was working insane hours this week. And ended up eating mall food more often than I should have. Ick.

But anyway, this weekend my mom and I hung at the mall for a few hours. We were gonna go to a movie, but nothing was playing that we really wanted to see. SO we decided to check out fye. I look at the anime, and my mom looks at the sci fi. Anyway, my mom notices a sign in the anime section. "Geneon dvds up to 50% off". Of course I grab up what they had, which included the complete box set of Saiyuki reload. I was never very fond of geneons change in voice actors, so I had never bought it before, but seeing how I have the complete first season, I figured i should complete my collection, since it's on sale anyway.

I also found Slayers Try. *o* I snatched that up since I had bought the first two seasons back in the 90s when the central park media was the distributer. It cost me $50 for the entire season. I still remember the first two seasons cost me around $167 each. SO yeah, I get in line, realizing I am spending waaaay too much money, but what the hell. And then my mom spots a stack of new arrivals on the desk by the register.

Samurai Champloo. Sitting right there. We got really excited. My mom had ordered it for me from amazon for my birthday, but amazon kept pushing back the send date (I guess they ran out of stock). We look at each other, and I ask the sales guy preparing them if it's the complete set. He says yes. I look at my mom, and she just sighs and says yes, she promised. I snatch it up. The guy was like "It's $200". I said I know. He was so cute. He just handed it over with this silly smile on his face. (I think he was at least a little familiar with anime).

So we get to the register. For three complete dvd sets it only cost me $240 dollars (or somewhere around that mark. Samurai Champloo only cost me $89.00. X3 Stupid Saiyuki cost me about $105. :/ But still. Now if only I could find a few of geneon's other titles.

dvds, anime, geneon
