So, spent today saying good-bye to my regular customers. Not quite leaving the coffee capital of the world, but am cutting hours back to weekends and one or two evenings a week. Today was my last shift on the weekday morning/day shift.
Most wished me luck. (They all know I've finished my Master's degree, and have the job at [Prestigious University] for the summer.) Some asked if I'd be back in the autumn, to which I replied, "I hope not."
A few were genuinely surprised to hear I was leaving this shift. Which, figuring I've been on this shift for the better part of eighteen months, is not surprising.
It'll be a busy, if not interesting summer. Hopefully, I'll learn many somethings. Hopefully, I won't burn out.
