Riesling Pepper Jelly
  • 3 cups riesling
  • 1 box (1.75 oz) no sugar needed pectin
  • 0.5 tsp butter
  • 4 cups sugar
  • 2 peter peppers, chopped
Soak peppers in wine for a while.
Bring wine, peppers and pectin to a boil.
Add sugar and boil 1 minute.

This didn't really come out right. I think because i used the no sugar needed pectin. I'll try regular next time. It got foamy in the jar and the jelly is way too stiff.

Yet Another Hot Sauce
  • 0.5 cup water
  • 0.5 cup cider vinegar
  • more vinegar to bring to desired consistency
  • most of a head of roasted garlic
  • maybe 0.25 cup sun dried tomatoes, rehydrated
  • 2 bhut jolokia peppers, chopped
  • 0.5 yellow onion, chopped
  • salt and pepper to taste
This one tastes mostly like vinegar. Oh, well.
