Riesling Pepper Jelly
- 3 cups riesling
- 1 box (1.75 oz) no sugar needed pectin
- 0.5 tsp butter
- 4 cups sugar
- 2 peter peppers, chopped
Soak peppers in wine for a while.
Bring wine, peppers and pectin to a boil.
Add sugar and boil 1 minute.
This didn't really come out right. I think because i used the no sugar needed pectin. I'll try regular next time. It got foamy in the jar and the jelly is way too stiff.
Yet Another Hot Sauce
- 0.5 cup water
- 0.5 cup cider vinegar
- more vinegar to bring to desired consistency
- most of a head of roasted garlic
- maybe 0.25 cup sun dried tomatoes, rehydrated
- 2 bhut jolokia peppers, chopped
- 0.5 yellow onion, chopped
- salt and pepper to taste
This one tastes mostly like vinegar. Oh, well.
