fun things
Today I became a member of the Royal Geographical Society. The Institution that supported Darwin, Richard Burton and Sir Edmund Hillary. I love that I can just come and go as I please, have lunch in the tea room, use the Foyle reading room, and attend Monday night lectures. Can't wait for this week's one on Peru. I don't know if this new feature of my London life gives me coolness or dorkiness points. Who fucking cares?
In other news, I saw a really funny play last night called The Reciept in Hammersmith.

It's an original contribution to the "working in an office sucks" genre, especially as a play, replete with synthesizers, filing cabinets that double as office buildings and little white action figures (don't ask). Everytime the main character gets a call from his boss (every few minutes), you can hear James Blunt's "You're beautiful" coming through the speaker phone from the Boss'office. It was both irritating and hilarious.
If only I could get that fucking song out of my head!
