Dont' have a real title for this, so I'll call it Rhodis for now. Other than that, I'm open to ideas, I'll have to find a way to make this "cleaner" so that it doesn't look so big and the fine folks at livejournal don't shit a brick in my name. I'll figure that out later, as for now I bring you the prologue:
Creation
Children often ask their parents where things come from. Sometimes parents answer “the person who made it” or some such thing, but sometimes there are no answers. Thus is the case of the High God Yyinole. When Yyinole came into being, there was only the darkness abound and a great breadth of loneliness. To remedy, the deity pulled out of itself 4 lesser gods. They were 2 men and 2 women, and each was called a God and given no superior position over another. The brothers, both strong and courageous, were named O’Relias and Helmin and the sisters, who were both beautiful as they were wise, were named Reyka and Seira. As time passed each tried to vie for the favor of the High God and each failed as much as the next. The High God looked in sadness at the creatures born from it, and so he took all the negative feelings and energy into itself. The High God began to lose its power and so with the little remaining he ripped from its body another two beings, named Hu’lis and the Nameless One. Yyinole’s last words were, “I am your creator, and thus you will listen when I speak. I shall tell you that you each are my children, and none of you have power over another. Take this, know it, and live it. My children, you shall reign forever in peace and harmony.” The lesser Gods were so touched by their creator’s speech that they came together and were the epitome of brotherhood… except for Hu’lis and the Nameless One, who were often overlooked by his brothers and sisters. Touched by great grief, the Nameless One left the ring of his brothers and sisters and disappeared never to be seen again.
The Beginning of Time
In reverence of their creator, the lesser Gods formed a sphere where they could create a world of people who could live in peace and harmony too. Each gave a gift to the sphere to make it whole. O’Relias gave it form and shape, and thus was forever known as the Earth God. Helmin tempered the earth with fire, and thus was forever known as the Fire God. Reyka filled the world with water and plants, and thus was forever known as the Water Goddess. Seira filled the world with animals and wind, and thus was forever known as the Wind Goddess. Thus the sphere was completed, and they named it Yyinole. Their final gift was Enlightenment, and they named it the Sun. Hu’lis was saddened for being left out of the creation and shed four multicolored tears. These tears will forever dance around Yyinole as its Moons.
The Age of the Enlightened Peoples
With each child’s power waning they created a race of people to inhabit the land, each in their own likeness. O’Relias created the race of mighty Centaurs, and bestowed upon them the gift of strength. Helmin created the race of Humans, and bestowed upon them the gift of courage. Reyka created the race of Nymphs, and gave them the gift of beauty. Seira created the race of Elfs, and gave them the gift of wisdom and cunning. Each race was given a kingdom on the land: the centaurs were given the Great Mountain region; the humans were given the river land and the prairies; the elves were given the mountainous land by the Great Ocean; the nymphs were given the land of nature-the Great Woodlands. To prevent the people of the world from fighting amongst themselves, they created the High Kingdom to have the High King (or Queen) to rule over all.
Hu’lis was angry with his siblings for being left out yet again. So he created the race of Demi-Humans in secret. Orcs, demons, and great half-beast half-men were given the land of Eternal Darkness-a land governed only by the Four Moons. And Hu’lis bestowed upon them every gift that was taken out of his siblings. Hu’lis then divised a plan to capture his siblings and become High God, and went into a slumber until the time was right.
The Fall of the Enlightened Peoples
Looking back on what they accomplished, each God left their celestial bodies to the heavens and created an earthly version of them to live amongst their people in harmony. The Gods lived in harmony with their creations for hundreds of years, while Hu’lis slept deeply. Many centuries went by, and many different reigns of High King and Queen passed. The peace between the kingdoms gave birth to the Enlightenment age and many schools of thought flourished. Meanwhile the Demi-Humans were creating an army for their master. When Hu’lis awoke from his slumber he found that the Celestial Kingdom was empty and so he sprung into action. He had his armies attack the peoples of the other Gods, and while they were busy with the Demi-Humans, Hu’lis took over the Celestial Kingdom of his own. The Demi-Humans were winning the war against the Enlightened People, and so the next part of Hu’lis’ plan was put into plan. He locked the Gates of Paradise (that is the gates into the Celestial Kingdom) and became a human to reign over the world. The lesser Gods saw this as a chance to quell the enemy once and for all. Together they forged the Ragnorak, a blade with the ability to smite Gods and force back any enemy of its wielder. The blade was built from the body of the Earth God himself, it was tempered in the soul of the Fire God, cooled by the tears of the Water Goddess, and finally, attached to the hilt made from the bosom of the Wind Goddess. It was given to the Great High Queen Sahla. She walked into the Kingdom of Eternal Darkness, alone, and battled her way to the top of Relhos Tower and slew the god Hu’lis himself. The Gods sealed their brother into the blade, but not before he cursed the user to a life of stone and threw both the wielder and the blade into some place in the land and the Gods fell into a deep slumber…
The Age of Humans and the Dawn of Man
The world was once again at peace, but the war took its toll. Only the race of the humans and demi-humans remained. All others either perished or fled into hiding where they eventually ran out of the will to hold onto life and died as well. Thus the great races of the Elves, the Nymphs, and the Centaurs perished into the pages of history. All that remained of them were the ruins of once-great temples. Stone warriors, built to protect the temples, guarded what would remain a mixture of building and rubble. The Ragnorak and its Queen were lost to the world forever; where they lay not a single man knows. The world itself was scarred: rivers forever dammed, forests destroyed, mountains tumbled, and the lands filled with the fallen. And so this was the end of the Age of the Enlightened, and so began the Age of Humans…
