Why am I so obsessed about Brand New?
Jesse Lacey freaking stuns me with his playing. So what if his voice is not perfect. He even commented during their last random live performance that he was watching American Idol one night and saw Simon tearing someone apart. Jesse went "Wow, I thought she was awesome. I can't sing like that." Brand New has three albums out and a fourth this year (hopefully <3), as well as a sizeable die-hard fanbase.
His lyrics are clever and filled with feeling. When he sings, his voice sometimes cracks and he doesn't always hit the notes. But I dare you to watch this video and tell me you don't feel something that awes you to silence.

He goes absolutely nuts around 3:50 and I feel like he's going to snap those guitar strings! Even better, his eyes are closed the entire time he's playing that climactic part of the song. The man is my hero.
