One of my childhood friends was just reported lost at sea this weekend. Aaron Marrs, 26, the older brother of a girl I knew as a child. Snow crab fishing in Alaska. The season opened Saturday morning and the boat wrecked Saturday afternoon. A few men survived, some were found dead, but Aaron hasn't been found yet. Given the freezing temperatures, the near-freezing water, and the choppy waves, he is presumed dead. I'm too shocked to respond to this now. This comes right on the tail of numerous deaths of family friends that occured over Christmas break. I'm only 20, but even I start to feel old when people around me start dying and I pass them by.
