on birds and knitting

Birds...

Living up to my usual inept standards, I failed to bring a lunch today. I was even up earlier than usual in order to take the D.A.D. to work before driving myself, but somehow the lunch packing failed to happen. So, by 11, I was getting pretty hungry. I held out until 1pm before heading over to the hospital for roast turkey and stuffing.

As I was standing in the vestibule, I had a clear view of the front walk and a deranged bird who divebombs everyone who walks past. From the chatter among my fellow shuttle-waiters, it seems that this bird has a nest in the hedge outside and views all of us employees as interlopers determined to kill her babies. This is the same bird who landed on me two days ago while I was waiting for the D.A.D. after work. Fun, believe me.

...and knitting...

Stitch and bitch was fun last night. I am sad that I shall be unable to return until July 16. Alas, alack. Statistics shall be occupying my Monday and Wednesday nights until then. But perhaps I'll make an effort to knit in public, even if it is all by myself, in the meantime. There are lots of places to KIP near my new home. I'll make that a goal for the year. Be more sociable. Even if it still isn't very sociable. Just more than I am now.

...and one more thing...

PeopleSoft is fine; I can function just fine with it. But it has one completely baffling, counter-intuitive (or counter-Microsoft-conditioning) aspect that drives me nuts. When you leave a purchase order without saving first, it pops up a message that says: "You have unsaved data on this page." If you click cancel, it doesn't save and brings you back into the main screen. If you click OK, it stops exiting so that you can save the page first. Which is ENTIRELY BACKWARDS to what I am used to. And despite working with PeopleSoft for FIVE MONTHS, this message causes me problems every time it pops up. *sigh*

knitting, work, weird
