I feel the need to get organized. I am continuing to have constant panic over nothing specific and the inability to do things that I need to do. Thus, I've started a little list of some things that I need to do
( Read more... )
1) Made my bed with nice sheets and my mattress cover (which totally is too small, but whatever...I got it at Bldg. 19). 2) Sorted all the clothes on my floor into (a) dirty and (b) clean 3) Sorted my dirty clothes into (a) priority (as in, wash tonight) and (b) not priority (as in, wash tomorrow). 4) Cleared a space in my closet to put the clothes that I wash tonight. 5) Started a load of laundry.
Hmm...that doesn't seem like very much, but it felt like a lot. I had to move a bookcase so that I could even reach my closet. I separated out my socks from my clean clothes so that I will be able to pair them and won't rush around in a panic tomorrow looking for matching (each other, not even necessarily my outfit!) socks. And my bed is big, so it makes me sweat when I make it for real (as opposed to my rather half-assed or non-existent "bed making"). And I moved some yarn bags/boxes so that they are all sort of in the same general area.
Thank you for your suggestions! Very helpful. And so true about the accumulated crap of each stage of my life. I'm thinking about ways to make it manageable, like making broad categories or something, so I'll post about that (probably tomorrow when I am bored to tears at work). And you can get vicarious organizing/cleaning thrills! hahaha.
Also, I've been thinking about my personal statement, and I'll probably take you up on your editing offer. It's that whole getting it from my brain to paper/computer bit that is the problem. Bleh. The application cutoffs are June 15 and July 1, so I have a (very) little bit of room. But I need to get cracking.
Whew. Ok, I've got to finish my one load of laundry, shower, put on clean jammies (!), and climb into my nice clean bed. *sighs*
P.S. I just wrote more in here than in most of my (entirely frivolous) posts. HA.
Heidi and I were just laughing about how every few years you have to have a sock clean-out and get serious with them. If any sock doesn't have a partner, its life is over. Period.
