Plants

I'm so excited about spring.

That's something that only someone in Houston could say this early in the year. Do you know that most people consider this Mid-Winter? Seriously.

I should move. I hate the heat.

But at least I have something to look forward to this year. This year I'll be planting stuff I'm excited about. I've already got several lovely cacti rooting and ready to take off and really grow. To add to my Cereus collection I started from the inheritance from Min's mom (That one cacti is now four rather large ones). I got another large Cereus that's ready to start rooting. It's too large to start indoors though and I'm not sure where I'll put it. Oh, and I've also got a very lovely Monstrous Cereus. I've been debating whether or not to take a cutting of it too. I think I shall.

And, of course, the little prickly pear patch I started last year is doing better than I thought it would.

But to add to that I've got 7 San Pedro's, two already lightly rooted... and a smaller Peruvian Torch that will hopefully root soon. Next is to get some Brigesii cuttings. Isn't it exciting? I wants so many things!!!

I also bought several window flower pots from Home Depot, they were on sale for a really good price. Good thing too as it's actually already time to start planting some of the flowers I have planned for this year. The one's that want to be started while it's still cold out anyhow.

Not yet time to start the Nicotina Rustica plants, although I'm certainly very much looking forward to that getting started as well. I should go soon and do a little re-tilling of the soil, to break it up and prevent plants from growing in the garden area. It's a real bitch to till after the plants have set up a good root system. Must Discourage Unauthorized Rooting!

Jack says that's one way to tell that we're getting older. We're planting stuff. Heh.
