(( Continues from this thread. ))

It has been a long while since Saya had to care for anybody but herself.

Thankfully, that doesn't mean her skill with medicine and first aid turned dull. However, as she sits on the very edge of her small bed and observes the blonde girl covered by a blanket, she realizes the most difficult part of this task. She has no idea how much her effort helps, if at all. When she's the wounded one, she can instantly tell if she feels better from her feelings. When it's somebody else, all she can do is get them comfortable and wait.

The fireplace burns brightly, illuminating her room better than any other source of light and producing enough heat to make droplets of sweat appear on Saya's forehead and send them running down her face. Still, she raises her hand and gently presses her to her accidental patient's face, and all she can feel is cold. She's not sure if her treatment did any good. She can lessen the wounds and mend broken bones, but she cannot make them disappear. She cannot create something out of nothing, force fresh blood into the person's body or restore the destroyed skin on their scars. For all she knows, her treatment was barely effective.

She must keep this girl warm. There's only one more option left.

The rustling of clothes joins the crackling of the logs in the fireplace as Saya shrugs off her pure-white cloak and tosses it to the floor. Her dress and stockings follow, finally joined by the ribbon that keeps her long hair away from her face. Then, the rustling changes into that of a blanket as she climbs onto the bed and presses herself against Sreda. A shiver runs down her spine as the cold skin begins greedily sucking the warmth from her, but Saya endures. As long as this girl survives the night, everything will be alright.

She stays like this for a while, staring at the features of the girl lying next to her as the shadows from the burning fireplace dance all over them. Soon enough, however, she finally warms up enough to feel comfortable and the combination of stress, worry and physical exhaustion from the day take their toll. Carefully, Saya presses her cheek into her unfortunate guest's shoulder, closes her eyes and falls asleep.

In the back of her mind, she hopes the next day will be a little bit better.
