(part2)

If they abstain from the things that are required, must they then be, vegan? part of the hardcore scene? should those things come first? are they relevant? It all depends, I say straight edge should be associated with vegetarianism or veganism too much. Of course I think its a natural add-on to the straight edge philosophy, but it is not mandatory. I am not vegetarian but I havent eaten chicken(or other birds), beef, pork, nothing else than seafood for more than 5 years, and you might think im just a "lazy" fake vegetarian, but that just who I am, and to me straight edge is what it was at first, I dont take drugs or chemicals, smoke, drink alcohol and will never do, and I dont have promiscuous sex and will never have, and I even stay far away from promiscuous making out and stuff like that. Im not really vegetarian, and im not vegan, but trust me, straight edge is the most important thing that has happened to me psychologically and physically, its really important to me in ways I couldnt describe. On the hardcore note, I am into hardcore and i've been for years even before I became straight edge, and I honestly don't really understand how someone can not know anything about hardcore and be straight edge the same way I see it. Maybe they are in some other way? Maybe they will learn more about it and maybe it will help them grow, just by looking for their straight edge roots, so they would discover bands and different types of positive things that are carried by hardcore. Once again, just believe in other people's potential and help them grow. Straight edge should not be an elite, it should be opened to teaching other curious people what straight edge is, it might help them discover a whole new world and it can help them grow.

The history of straight edge per example, its something important that not everyone knows or cares about. In some circle of friends, no one gives a shit about Minor Threat, Youth Of Today, for some people, straight edge started with Earth Crisis. I would say that heavy vegan straight edge hardcore probably started around these bands in the 1990'ies, but there is a lot more to it. Earth Crisis were the first hardcore show i've ever been, and it changed my whole life, they are an important band, but later I discovered that Minor Threat werent just a punk band, and youth of today were not just some obscure band from the 80ies that sounded like an evolution of minor threat, etc etc, but I still have a lot of respect for what bands like Earth Crisis and Trial did. As a straight edge person, I feel like straight edge is also a way to learn, not only about the history of straight edge but also about life itself, its an advantage I might have on some other people, but its most importantly an advantage I have on myself, its being better than myself, it means becoming a better me. To me it doesnt matter anymore how people can sound ignorant about straight edge, I will always try to help them learn, just by sharing what I know, the same way I like to know and learn about other straight edge people that have things to say that I dont necessarily know about, so and I keep on learning from other people and might find other ways of improving myself, or just having a wider view on the world around me.

I could go on for hours about these subjects, I find that kind of stuff important.
