In response to a post I just read...

All this "Gumbo" and "Others" crap is juvenile. Your people are your people, even if they're not included in some name or another.

Here's an analogy for you kids that I have created to best suit the situation...

According to my Cajun grandpa, any gumbo starts off with flour and water and is going to have okra and rice, which make four main ingredients. Next, you throw in whatever you have around the house... Sausage, crabs, shrimp, crawfish, different seasonings, basil leaves, green onions, white onions, file, tabasco, duck, or chicken... just whatever. The point is, when you go to make a gumbo, you have a vague idea of what it'll start with, but it's anyone's guess what it'll end up having in it.

So now if everyone would just stop bickering about who is or is not in the gumbo, that'd be great. Just look in the goddamn pot you've been stewing for years.
