verse 1: his friend commited suicide. because she was possibly misstreated by guys because she was beautiful. (thats probably really wrong, but thats what i got from it) He keeps his distance at the funeral. I think the long broken arm of human law is suicide. because its a loophole in life, im guessing.
chorus: he has her in a certain form (cinderella) and he can still make it without her being physically there. I think he uses "cinderella" cuz she was a slave to life, but now that shes dead, shes somewhere else, and doesnt have to be sad anymore.
verse 2: "it feels like independence day" it feels like she has freedom to be able to commit suicide and the only way she can "break away from this paraide" is to do so. But he was trying to help her in life, but she ended up killing herself anyway, and so he blames himself for her death. He thinks he could have done something more to prevent it, and feels that he basically helped her kill herself.
verse 3: Hes just talking about life now, without her. And how everything is dead to him.. how he cant seem to get his life back on track, whenever he tries something, it goes wrong. The world is ugly. her death is killing him. (Its actually "i think HER death, it must be killing me")
