Thanks for letting me borrow your glasses, I said.

No problem, and she shrugged, taking them back from me. I rubbed my eyes and let myself adjust. I could feel my muscles and my bones - the dull heaviness which reminded me how long it'd been since I'd slept.

Today was a learning day, and I worked my mind just as hard as my limbs. I wanted so bad to add this to the lists I had inside my head, to break it down and categorize every little thing that happened. I wish there was a book to tell me how this ends.

I never saw myself the way I heard about today. I suppose I'm pretty terrible at walking in your shoes, but on the way to the city, I could see all the lights and the shadows in perfect definition.

I've never owned a watch, but if I did, I would turn the hands as far back as they could go.
