Joining: Closed to Naruto, Sai, and Neji for now
Location: The Konoha village gates
Time: Just before dawn the day after the briefing. May.
Recap: Naruto, Sai, and Neji venture their way through an intelligence gathering mission.
Warnings: Maybe some violence later on...other than that probably none.
Neji looked out onto the open gates and the forest beyond. This was his first mission as team leader on this rank of a mission. He turned now to look at his two companions, a hard determined look in his eyes. This mission would not fail, they'd all come back alive and well, and he'd have another chance to prove himself infront of the Main House members.
"This is the last chance either of you have to back out. You're sure this is what you two want to do?"
He swallowed a lump that had begun to grow in his throat. This uncertainty would not do. Uncertainty created hesitation and even a second of that meant trouble for the team. If not for himself, then he'd be strong for Sai and Naruto who depended on him to bring them back alive and well. All of a sudden he realized that he had never had this type of pressure on him before. But it would be okay, he was confident of his growth as a shinobi and as a friend. The Hyuuga adjusted his backpack on his shoulder as he awaited their reply. Even if they did back out Neji would simply look for two more people to go with him, this was important to his friends and to his village. There was no going back for the Hyuuga now.
