For the latest Picspammy challenge I wanted to picspam my top 5 episodes of my all-time favourite show, Supernatural. :D
Excluding my top 2, deciding on a top 5 was SO DIFFICULT. This could've easily been a top 10. Also, I'm loving season
five & there have been some great episodes but I just couldn't shove any of these out of my top 5. :(
On with the spam:
Number five was a toss up between this episode & 4x03 "The Beginning", but I went with this
because I love me some old school Winchester-family angst. I'd totally carry on watching the
show if it was just Dean mowing his lawn and Sam making wedding plans, that's how much I'd
love an (impossible) happily-ever-after for those two. Oh, and Mary Winchester is forever
awesome.
This is hands down my favourite "mythology" focused episode. The opening scene with Castiel finding the dead angel was so
beautifully done, it felt like something I should've been watching on a movie screen rather than my TV. I love, love, love the
guy who played Alastair here, he was so perfectly creepy and intense. So, this episode has lots of Castiel, some amazing
camera shots, amazing atmosphere & lots of surprises. I was pretty much glued to my TV in suspense the first time this was on.
Ahhh, Papa Winchester. :( It wouldn't be a top 5 without a Papa Winchester episode. There's just something
exceptional about this one and it's probably the episode I've rewatched the most. The Sam & Dean ouija board
scene is one of my all-time favourites, I'm not sure why, it was just a cool idea I guess. The whole thing pretty
much breaks my heart with Sammy's daddy issues and brother-angst but the end is, of course, the biggest deal
here. :(
I remember watching this episode and feeling nervous because it somehow felt different to my "usual" Supernatural,
but I fucking love it. The whole first sequence with Dean crawling out of his grave and wandering around confused
was awesome, and the end of the episode includes the most epic character introduction ever. I loved Castiel straight
away, and this episode left me so "OMGWTF?!" but immensely excited.
This is pretty much my favourite episode of any TV show ever. I LOVE IT SO MUCH. I never read the
synopsis's so the whole "ground hog day" theme had me as spun out as Sam. I'd never expect one
episode to be both so hilarious and heartbreaking, I laughed out loud and I cried which is verrry unusual.
They managed to kill Dean 3 billion times in one episode without me losing my heartache for Sammy & for
a moment, after Dean got shot in the parking lot, I really thought he was dead for good and panicked.
This episode is just all kinds of ridiculous awesome.
