[France is sitting on a bench in the park. Being in such an open space when he knows someone out there has a card with his name on it probably isn't the smartest move, but he needed fresh air to think about the contents of that letter.

tl;dr thinking things over )

a very thoughtful person, !event, !event: spring cleaning

[Romana wanders through the park, on her way home her head bowed as she watches her feet. There are bruises on her arms, blood on her blouse and her hair is in a tangle around her face. But it's her eyes that give it away, dim and blank as her mind slowly works through the slight guilt she always feels.

It was just one person. One person, whose name she never knew before today, who she had never seen. One person, for all of the people in her nation, for her sister. The pictures in her hands burn, the gun in her purse just as hot. The guilt will fade, she tries to tell herself, it had to be done.

Swallowing, a small shudder runs through her as she forces herself to become more aware of her surroundings. It's not smart to be this distracted, not when this town is falling apart. Her eyes fall on France and slowly Romana makes her way over, forcing her face into a neutral, if not bored look. She doesn't need concern from him, or anyone. Not even though it's clear she feels at least some for him.]

Francia. You're more of an idiota then I thought if you're just sitting out here. Haven't you learnt anything from any war you've been in?

[If there was any way to kill a nation it would be through their people and they could clearly get close enough to take a photo and who is to say they won't-

France pauses and looked up as Romana walked over. He raised an eyebrow and looked her up and down.] I'm not too worried for myself, chèrie. What did you do?

[Her hand lifts, as if she's about to attempt to tame to wild mess of loose curls. And then it falls, Romana crossing her arms. Her own gaze passes over France, checking him for marks. Nothing yet, though perhaps he just hasn't been found.]

What needed to be done. Not that it's any of your business.

Of course not. Is the blood yours?

Some. Does it matter?

Yes, actually. You should take care of that, instead of stumbling around like a wounded gazelle.

I was thank you. I was headed home and the only thing that stopped me was seeing your stupid ass just sitting here.

...Or did you not get one?

I did. Mais, I suppose sitting out here where not many people would think to look for me is no more dangerous than sitting in a building that several people know I live in. Are you worried about me, petite?

[For a moment Romana just studies him, her grip on her calm composure sliding slightly. For a second she looks small, tired, the bruises a little darker on her skin. And then she gathers herself up again, rolling her eyes and looking away]

Perhaps. Maybe I expect a little better from someone who my Grandmo... grandfather raised for a bit. It would look bad on me, seeing as you're practically... family.

...If you can't stay at your house you should find somewhere that isn't out in the open, moron. There are so many positions a sniper could take here.

[France smiled and stood to walk a little closer to Romana.] Family, chèrie? I'm touched. Don't worry, your big brother hasn't forgotten Roma. It's not too hard to picture him as a woman, either.

Oui, but I'm sure if there is one hiding in a tree nearby, they would have shot me by now, non? There are no points for waiting in this game.

[She stands her ground, her crossed arms tightening over her chest as she gives him a stern look] Idiota. You're not my big brother. A-And I'm not concerned about you, it would just look bad on our name.

...Perhaps they've only just arrived and are waiting for me to leave. A killer with a conscious.

Of course I am, do you say such cruel things to your big sister? [Eyes the blood on her shirt.] I think you have to worry about yourself before you concern yourself with me, chèrie.

If so, I doubt they want to kill me anyway. But if you insist, I'll find somewhere safer soon.

Of course I do, idiota. And she's not my big sister either. [Unless she's drunk or wants something. Also covering up that blood stain with her hand] I'll be fine... I can already feel myself getting better.

They might just find you annoying, and kill you for that. It would be reasonable. But... good.
