I thought the fic was quite the perverse view of hatred, especially from Roxas' point of view.

Hmm... I do pity Axel somewhat, but somehow, Roxas pain appealed to me more. I think it has something to do with the fact that you didn't explicitly state Axel's pain.

Roxas' pain stemmed from his abandonment, the fact that his twin brother doesn't recognize him, doesn't seem to even know he exists, and most of all, Roxas' repeated statements of how he can't feel. Maybe you'd intended for the original meaning to be due to his identity as a Nobody, but I intepreted it as self-deceit. Only by decieving himself that he can't feel, that his abandonment and everything else cannot hurt him, can Roxas carry on with his life. Add the fact that he refuses (or maybe he can't or his idea of being unable to feel would contradict itself) to 'acknowledge' his friendship with Axel, and you have one very pitiful Roxas.

As for Axel... I actually didn't get the love vibes from him for Roxas. It seemed that the relationship they shared were more of the best friends with benefits type. So in this case, he probably went along with Roxas plan because he didn't want to leave him alone. I'm not sure how to explain this, but I guess if Axel had some sort of unrequited love towards Roxas, I would have felt stronger for him?

Oh... I did think of all that, but certainly not in that depth... (does that make me a sad, sad person? D:)

But, while the Roxas part has a good point, I pitied Axel because he went along with whatever Roxas said. Roxas (at least, this fic!Roxas could tell Axel to cut off his own arm, and Axel would do it without a thought. And, even though it's technically "Axel/Roxas", I don't think (as you said), they were anything but, uh...Friends with benifits (I don't like the term for them, but it's right). Axel would do anything for Roxas, and Roxas, to some degree, trusts Axel with his affairs. Granted, like in the fic, Axel can and will talk back to Roxas, but usually Roxas is in charge, and Axel carries out the dirty work.

...Did I make any sense? Like, I agree, but that (above) was what I thought about. But darn, I didn't think so much could come from one little one shot. :O

Yeah, that was how I see Axel in this fic too. I'm sympathetic towards him, but for Roxas, it's a totally different level of sympathy. D:
