here “Alright Roxas - we have a complete day to do absolutely nothing at all. What do you want to do?”
The blond glanced up, seeing Axel’s smiling face before rolling his eyes and facing the TV again. Great - his character onscreen just got beat up. Scowling, Roxas chucked the controlled onto the ground and turned to face the redhead. “I don’t know…wait. Nothing? What about missions?”
Axel gave Roxas a grin before sitting next to him on the bed. “That’s the thing - Xemnas didn’t assign us any missions for once. Nice, huh?”
“More like suspicious…” Roxas narrowed his eyes at Axel, who gave an innocent shrug. “Alright - let’s say you didn’t tamper with Xemnas’s mind…”
“Which I didn’t,” Axel interrupted. Roxas raised an eyebrow. “I didn’t!”
Rolling his eyes, Roxas muttered, “Suuure…” He crossed his arms behind his head and gave a faint grin. “Well, a day to ourselves. What now?”
Neither spoke for a minute until Roxas gave a wide grin. Axel, noting Roxas’s grin, narrowed his eyes. “No.”
Roxas’s jaw dropped. “But why not?! I mean, we haven’t in a while…”
“No, we are not getting Sea Salt Ice Cream.” Axel glared at his blond companion, who grinned innocently. “Every time we have a break, you force us to sneak off to the Station Tower in Twilight Town to eat that accursed ice cream. True, you don’t get fat, but you’re eventually going to have a heart attack if you keep eating that crap.”
Roxas gave Axel a mock hurt look, at which the redhead rolled his eyes. “No, and that’s final.”
“Fine, you kill-joy,” Roxas muttered, quieting in an attempt to think of another idea. Another couple of minutes passed, before he gave a wide grin. “Hey…”
Axel turned to glance at Roxas, and shook his head. “No.”
“Why not?! You haven’t even heard the idea yet!” Roxas protested, grabbing Axel’s arm. “Come on, it’ll be fun, I promise.”
Axel closed his eyes. “No, because you grinned that malicious grin, meaning that your idea is stupid. Stop giving me that look, Roxas - it’s not going to work on me.”
“Of course it won’t,” Roxas retorted, “if you’re not looking at me.”
Exhaling, and giving in, Axel peeked open an eye to see Roxas attempting to look pitiful. The look itself was a mix between a homicidal Roxas and a downright goofy one, so he laughed. “Fine, fine.” Axel gave in, shaking his head. “But if it’s stupid…”
Roxas grinned. “It won’t be. I promise.”

A couple of hours later, Axel was currently standing near a wall in Twilight Town, mysteriously dressed in normal clothing, making sure to stay away from blond as he skated by. “Yeehaw,” Axel commented, his eyes narrowing. “Whoopee. Such fun, Roxas.”
Roxas turned his head before twisting the board around and skating before stopping in front of Axel. “Well, you didn’t want to try it.”
“Oh, I’m sorry. I enjoy my bones to stay intact, thank you very much.”
Narrowing his eyes, Roxas scowled. “Ass.” He hopped off the board before holding it up. “Come on, just try.” When Axel made no movement, the blond smirked. “You’re the one who wields twenty pound chakrams and wonders why no one else can.” Axel still didn’t move. Roxas frowned. “Come on Axel.. for me? Please?” Still no response. “I’ll…do your duties around the castle for a week.”
“Including cleaning the kitchen?” Axel asked quietly, still eyeing the board cautiously. Roxas nodded and Axel grabbed the board with a groan. “If I die, you can’t have any of my stuff. Burn it - I’ll find it somewhere in the darkness.”
“Wimp,” Roxas smirked as Axel attempted to steady himself on the board. “Here, stand on it and put your arm on my shoulder.”
“I could, if you weren’t so short, blondie.” Roxas almost moved away, until he glanced up to Axel’s face. That was priceless - Axel, cool, confident Axel, was wobbling on the board and looking overall nervous about it. Roxas chuckled before slowing walking alongside the board, despite Axel’s protests. “Not so fast!”
Roxas finally burst out laughing. “I thought you were Axel: able to do anything.”
“But this, apparently.” Axel scowled at the blond, who grinned in retribution. “How do you even do this?”
Sighing, Roxas smiled up to Axel. “Here, it’s like this.”

Xigbar had been asked by Xemnas to find out where Axel and Roxas had went (well, actually, the Superior had given him an hour long talk about the importance of finding the Nobodies. He just gathered that was what he wanted). It had taken him a few hours, but when he did find them in Twilight Town, he found Axel attempting to skate on some sort of board and Roxas watching encouragingly from the sidelines. Kids. Xigbar shook his head before coughing.
Both turned to him. “Oh, hey Xigbar.” Axel gave a wave. “What brings you around here?”
Xigbar raised his eyebrow. “Nothing really. Just that you two had a mission to the Pride Lands that you somehow happened to avoid, and Zexion and Demyx were forced to take it.”
Axel ran a hand through his hair before Roxas turned to stare at the redhead, wide-eyed and pissed. “You said we had no mission!” Roxas shouted, approaching Axel. “You lied and now Xemnas is going to lecture is to death!”
Glancing back and forth between Roxas and Xigbar, Axel hopped on the skateboard before skating off. “Bye, Roxas!” he called off behind him.
Roxas stared at Axel in awe before chasing the Nobody, shouting threats that cannot be repeated here. Xigbar rolled his eyes before teleporting back to the castle. Axel would be maimed well enough from Roxas without any of his help.
