I'm no expert, but, from what I've read, as the mother, unless an opposing party can show proof of abuse, malnutrition, or neglect, the case is pretty much an open and close sort of deal. Granted, with enough complaints the state may impose a service worker to "watch over" you, or may order you to take parenting courses, but loss of custody generally takes an actual incident on record.
