The Next Bob Ross???
Umm...maybe not. But I gave that style of oil painting my best shot today. The picture turned out okay...practice is needed. Especially bushes and leafless winter trees. I think I'm pretty good at the background and clouds and such. Mountains are a completely different story. :P Anyway, it's kind of fun...easier to cover mistakes (happy little trees anyone?) but it is also easier to make mistakes. Since it's wet on wet paint, the paint has an annoying tendency to go places where you don't want it to. Though sometimes it's a good thing and you get nice shadows, but other times you just want white to be white, not white mixed with blue. Plus clean-up is a pain! Oils are the worst medium to clean. So messy. I think I'll keep going at it though...but not till after Kendra's wedding because you wouldn't believe how blue my hands and arms are right now. o_O Not very attractive for a wedding.
I can't believe it's almost 10:00 pm. I started painting at about 2 and haven't looked at a clock till now. As I told my Dad, "Time flies when you are making a mess." hehe.
