So far this year has been a pretty good year for music, some really impressive songs coming off some not so impressive albums (Gomez's How We Operate is the best example of this).
So, for me the following is a list of the top albums of the year:
1. Suburban Songbook - Bob Evans
2. Desert Lights - Something For Kate
3. The Greatest - Cat Power
4. How We Operate - Gomez
5. Personality: One Was A Spider, One Was A Bird - The Sleepy Jackson
6. Moo, You Bloody Choir - Augie March
7. With Strings, Live At Town Hall - Eels
8. Gravity Won't Get You High - The Grates
9. Pay The Devil - Van Morrison
10. At War With The Mystics - The Flaming Lips
But, what with Gomez releasing a Best Of album later this year and The Decemberists releasing a 22 track album in October, chances are this list will change dramatically.
