I don't think many people realise how fucking ace this is, but, I am currently listening to Gomez doing a cover of Road To Nowhere by Talking Heads. It is seriously kick ass. If my top 25 hadn't already been made, this would be up there very high. It even has them doing the shouts near the end of the song ( Read more... )

Hey! Hey! Hey!

hehehehe is it the older road to version that's floating around on various file share programs or the one from this year? The older one is really quiet and starts with "this is a song by someone else...". I could put up the newer on yousendit/rapidshare if you don't have it and would like to hear it.

Yeah, I've got the one that's quiet for about two minutes then it kicks in. What show is the new one from? I've gotta find out where you guys are all getting these shows from.

I think that one was done at show in Ireland a few years ago, but I don't know any more info than that ( ... )

Thanks heaps for that song. It's superb. Much better than the other version I have, which is still good, but not as good.

And thanks for the tips as well.

Glad to be of service :-)

btw. have you got their version of The Doors 'Soul Kitchen'? That is also an absolute must-have-now, as is the way they do 78 stone wobble into Not Fade Away (Buddy Holly the Rolling Stones). If you don't have them I'll upload them today - your life is not complete without them ;-)

I haven't got those two songs, but it'd be great if I could get a copy of them.

Thanks for that again!

These are both really old and of unknown origin, though best guess is a show in London that was broadcast on JJJ as a Live at the Wireless in 2000 - maybe - don't quote me! They have done them more recently in shows, Not fade away quite often but these are two good versions to start with. I see people are sending you shows so you should get the recent ones in there..but to start you off:

Btw. if worst comes to worst I can send you stuff but I'd actually like the Aussies on the forum to come to the rescue. I sent out about 15-20 packages of shows in the 2 months before I left Australia and very few of them have been weeded again or even acknowledged. So make them get off their arses! (But don't tell them I said that of course hee hee) Seriously new people do it all the time, you can say I can vouch for you ;-)
