Today I'm sending Awesome Bots out to yet another company, probably the tenth or so I've proposed it to, in the slim hopes it's not rejected. Cambridge Games Factory doesn't have the bestest track record - one great game and many mediocre games,
all with terrible graphic design - but it is known in the gaming community and the initial contact I've had with the company is positive ("This game looks very promising (not to mention, awesome & botty)." - CGF's director of game development) so I'm optimistic for now.
Another cool thing about the company is their royalties system. As with Malta! and most games, there is 5% royalties paid to the designer eventually, "but on the initial print runs [of 500 to 1000 units] we pay in product instead-you'd receive 25 or 50 sample copies of your game to sell, trade or give away as you see fit." I think it's neat to be able to gift or sell some of the stuff rather than get paltry pocket change.
