Toastmasters is an organization started in 1927 by (funny enough) the YMCA. There's generally one at every university. It's primarily an oral speaking club, usually dominated by business students, but this one is a healthy mix of business, political science, women's studies and a couple of outspoken English students. No hippies allowed.

We're a network of students and professors, all of whom are sponsored by (currently) Telus and Shell. We have guest speakers and what not and are headed by an executive committee who make all the decisions and get to act fairly pompously. (Smug, smug.)

You are also in a position of power - greater power than mine, my friend. We can be smug together.
