You can’t relight tea-lights.
Did you know that?
Well you can, but they just burn out right away-
With the wick already singed, it can’t hold out long enough
To melt enough wax and sustain the flame
before disappearing inside itself.
So they’re really only good for one good burn.
One-time-shot. Like a piece of gum. Or a condom. Or a life.
And if they blow out before the candle fully burns away,
before they get to extinguish peacefully with a sense of fulfillment and totality
they just leave behind a defunct waxen corpse-
Not good for burning. Not good for anything, really.
So blow out your tea-lights with caution,
And enjoy the dim glow of their one warm burn.
Or just get bigger candles.
