Jubokko - it means "vampire tree". Sort of the nastier form of a dryad from Japanese folklore. In this case it makes a good name for an Amazon Tree Boa who came out of the box striking at everything in sight. Not your average cuddly snake...esspecially since Hope, one of our Jungle Diamond Pythons was bein genuinely nippy last night when Bree took her out to feed her
Jubokko just arrived today, paid for some time back (which is a blessing given how tight things are again at the moment with Bree down with what looks like pnumonia). Everything is running along well here abouts beside Bree's illness - we have a bit more than half a dozen ball python eggs, 4 weber's sailfin eggs (they actually have veining when candled - which means they're viable compared to last year's batch), and the geckos have started dropping eggs. So Yay! Life continues...
It's t-minus 12 days to nursing school. With any luck, this time next year I'll be graduating and can get a decent paying job, doing something worthwhile in the world...for once.
