A Tale of Two Micheles

Well, not a tale, really, because I'm just posting pics here. :B But I decided to take a couple quick snaps of my two little blond-haired, purple-eyed Micheles, since they really are just so different from each other, even being the same sculpt. Multiples are fun! \o/

Hee! Such cuties! Love the *gasp* shot.
We would have had twin Michele brothers too, but we just can't get around wanting more dolls than we have space for, so we didn't want to duplicate dolls and fill a slot that another sculpt could occupy (in this case, Kanata).

Ah, but it's really fun to have different-sculpt twins! That's how Thales and Pallas are, and Thales and Arch aren't related at all. XD; I only ended up with two Micheles because I'd already bought Thales from Y!J long before, and he and his brother were out getting faceups when the new release Michele came out, and I was being greedy because I *could* be, and sent off an email to We Love Dolls first thing. ^^; Whoops! I just couldn't resist a retail Michele on layaway! :B

Isn't it fabulous to be able to buy a Volks doll without the aid of Y!J once in a while? I felt like I was in another dimension or something when I walked into a Sumika in Tokyo and walked out with a Kanata. Maybe it's just that it's been a long time since a regular, unlimited doll appealed to me that much.

Oh man, I've been staying away from Y!J for a while now, because of the crappy conversion rates, and that added to the fees just isn't worth it lately. >_< I sure would love to be able to walk into a Volks store and walk out with a dollie, but that probably won't happen for a looooong time for me! XD I'll just have to hope to win something fun at NY Dolpa, I guess. It's really great that they're coming out with more appealing standards, though! ^^

You seem to have pretty good luck at Dolpa! I considered trying to go to NY this year, but I just don't have the vacation time or funds available. U_U

Ahaha, well, I had good luck there one year, and am hoping for more this year, too! And yeah, if you recently went to Japan, I can see that a trip out to NYC wouldn't be quite necessary. :<

Yeah, we're planning to go back to Japan in November too, so that's why we have to skip NY. I've been itching to get back to Manhattan for about a year now, though, and it would be really cool to hang out with some East Coast peeps. I guess the problem is that I'd really want to spend about two weeks there and just going for Dolpa would be frustrating, and the hotels are so much more expensive than in Japan!
