Yes, it's Christmas Eve in the Sanctuary and there's a party ready to celebrate. Chat, drink, eat and be merry. Just be careful what you do under that mistletoe ;)

John slipped quietly into the back of the party, heading to the food table to fill a plate and then to a quiet corner to watch the others. This could prove entertaining.

Nikola was glaring at John from across the room. He shouldn't be here, murderous little...

It's Christmas, Nikola - don't make a fuss... he kept reminding himself.

John caught Nikola staring at him from across the room. He lifted his glass of wine in silent toast. It was t'was the season and all that.

Nikola would not toast him. He just swirled his wine around and continued to glare with one of his, 'one day - I will kill you' looks.

If he was not Ashley's father and Helen's lover then perhaps Nikola would have had a better go at it before.

John smirked at the look on Nikola's face. It was clear that neither liked the other and someday they would try to put an end to each other, but for now, he would behaive. Bad form and all on Christmas and all.

He chuckled to himself over his wine at the thought.

You'll keep John - you'll keep. Nikola knew his secrets and if he wasn't afraid of harm coming to Morgana - then John would be hanging from a lightning rod on the roof.

John turned his attention from Telsa to a new couple who entered the party, Griffin and Morgause. Griffin looked thinner, but healther than there last meeting and very much attached to the young woman. Interesting. He had heard some conflicting reports about the young woman, just enough to peek his interest and seeing her with Griffin, only intensified that.

Nikola took John's momentary distraction to sneak right up behind him. He may not be able to flicker in and out of the universe, but he had that vampire stealth and speed second to none.

"No whores with you this evening..." Nikola hissed under his breath at him. He just could not help goadin him.

"Merry Christmas to you to, Tesla," he said with a smile as he turned to face him.

"Do not bother with pleasantries if you don't mean them..."

[mjohndruitt]

"Tis the season and all that," John said, sipping his wine.

[nikolat3sla]

"I'll be watching you..." Nikola warned him softly.

[mjohndruitt]

John just chuckled. "And what pray diffrence will that make?" he asked back archly. He glanced back at Nigel and Morguase. "Don't tell me you've fallen for his sob story as well."

[nikolat3sla]

"That is Nigel Griffin, whether you want to accept it or not. Indeed, how are we to know that you are the real John Druitt? Missing, for all this time and then you suddenly show up - most convineient."

[mjohndruitt]

"I was not missing. I merely had other errands to run," he said. "And I had my own reasons for returning at this time," he replied, sipping his wine.

"And Nigel was merely the toy of the Cabal - tortured since his creation - hardly a way to endear you to an organisation. You may not have known Nigel very well, but I did - and he is not Cabal..."
