Bonfire - Uli`s Perspective

Jan 16, 2009 22:22

In January, Jenn, our friend Keith, and I, we all went to a bonfire in Brunswick where Jenn`s friend and yoga teacher Jan lives. The evening started with Jenn straightening my hair which was awesome! I liked that so much. After that, we were picked up and taken on a nice car ride to the house of Jan. It is such a lovely place! The estate is surrounded by trees and includes a big garden. First, we went inside and had a beer. Jan also owned 5 dogs and 3 cats. Those are Greyhounds and I actually had never seen this breed! They were incredilbly cute and jumpy and excited about so many new people at their home. I was also impressed by the spiritual decoration of the living room and the music that was playing. An hour later, after everybody else had arrived, we decided to go out to start the bonfire. And this was impressive, too! Some branches and other parts of trees were already piled up outside. Jan lightened the fire and threw a christmas tree with a chain of lights into the fire. The plastic melted and litte explosions with wonderful colors appeared. Jenn took photos and everybody was amazed by these chemical reaction. It wasn`t healthy I guess but so interesting, though! It was mystical and gave the flames personality. We gathered around the fire and Jenn and Keith played there guitars and sang. It was beautiful. Later that night, we roasted marshmallows, which was special to me because I had never done this before, and talked and laughed so much. The photos can tell! Although it was cold, the fire warmed us and time flew by. We had to leave. Back on campus, I already missed that place so much.
