Or what could be alternatively entitled, "Why I view America's Mainstream Media as an enemy of the greatest proportions. And why America will to return to liberty or die!"
Yes, I heard all the reports regarding Governor Palin's resignation. Every article I read was written by a liberal news editor who said just about the same thing..repeating a small handful of points - which were:
- shocking news
- confused rambling
- reason unclear
- is this a risky move for 2012
Governor Sarah Palin, has been constantly witch hunted and demonized by the liberal mainstream media. Yes, I know...so many dislike her. They point to a brief interview with Katie Couric. So on and so on...
But most people in America are stupid. (Hopefully that does not include you.) Most people read what the media prints and swallows it like a whore getting her $4 for her fix. They seldom every go to the source, or even bother to read and educate themselves. They accept what they're told - and that will be the death of America.
Some 55 minutes were recorded with Katie Couric, but people's horrible opinions were based on a 7 minute segment spliced together by people who hated Governor Palin for the mere fact that they're ideologically different in viewpoints. So do I trust what is given in the midst of a Presidential campaign where most of the media were sucking off Obama. No, not really. Especially as I am quite aware of how the cutting room floor can completely alter presentation and perception - with the intent to mislead the viewer. If you need proof, watch a Michael Moore film. He's quite adept at such. Splicing statements from different days together. To insinuating that Charleton Heston might be a racist (a man who was actually at the forefront of the civil rights movement).
The mainstream media has become adept at being the left's pitbulls. They were unleashed on Joe the Plumber. When within days they were attacking him and declaring he wasn't a plumber, Joe wasn't his name, he was a tax evader, unlicensed and illegal, so on and so on. Demonizing the man, why? Because he had the nerve to ask Obama challenging question. How dare he make their god look bad! Mind you, most Americans never heard the truth to those allegations. Every single one turned out to be either baseless, false or easily explained. The truth doesn't matter. They achieved their goal - destroying a man's character out of lies.
So likewise, when I read all the articles coming from the mainstream media regarding Governor Palin's resignation, a part of me called "BULLSHIT". I wanted to read what she said for myself. Now I have....and I found it quite different from what the mainstream media would have me to believe.
http://www.gov.state.ak.us/exec-column.php (read it here)
What were her points and comments in her speech?
- A list of the accomplishments under her governorship. Mind you, while California is $8 billion in the whole and giving toilet paper IOU's to it's citizens, Alaska had a several billion dollar surplus. But the list of other accomplishments were pretty extensive as well.
- She explained that since the VP run she has had to deal with a barrage of ethics complaints. 15 were filed against and all dismissed. She gave examples of how lame some were, holding a fish, wearing a jacket with a logo. Oh the evil? They own a small commercial fishing business....her holding a fish is an ethics violation. She wore a jacket with a logo of the company that sponsors her husband in the Iron Dog race. The horror!!!!
(Read about just how BS this allegation was:
http://www.conservatives4palin.com/2009/06/sarah-palin-benefits-from-living-so.html)
- The end result is that the Palin's have spent $500,000 personally dealing with this. And the State of Alaska close to $2 million. Meanwhile, so much of the governor's time is now being spent dealing with these ethic complains instead of governing.
So where are all of these coming from, what are they? It's the Democrat/Leftist Media machine at work. (The same one that constantly accuses Palin of waging a "partisan vice-presidential campaign" but totally ignores the fact that the Democrat Party with the help of it's pitbulls went on a full rampage against her. Before her run, she had a good record of working with both parties (and nailing her own party on corruption issues). But afer she joined the 2008 Presidential race the Democrat Party instructed their machinations to impede her at all costs. Progress ground to a halt....all for a vendetta of politics and the goal of hopefully eliminating her as both the 2008 and as a future 2012 candidate.
Governor Palin than goes on to explain that she is resigning so that progress in Alaska can continue. With the Democrat Party on a vendetta to block her, hound and harass her with fraudulent ethics. Little progress can be made, while at the same time it's costing the tax payers millions.
So she's passing the torch to someone who is not blacklisted and targeted for destruction by the DNC and media. It makes sense. Total sense...if one's intent & desire is to see the passage of acts and goals which you know you can no longer get done.
It is also tragic, because I fear it will further embolden Democrats to attack all the more ferociously. Not that you'd ever know it from the newspapers and MSM websites. The way they portray it, partisan politics is only played by Republicans. (In fact, I do not believe I have read an article in a mainstream news outlet that has accused the Democrats of partisan politics - at least not in the past 10 yrs. Yes, the media really IS that biased.)
Now I do not know what Sarah Palin's plans are. Whether she's going to make a national bid for the Presidency in 2012. Or if she intends to become a power player in the Republican Party to re-shape it into what it needs to become. Perhaps she'll just drop out of politics and enjoy time with her family. Not a bad idea, at least not for her...but a tragic one for America.
It's often said that we don't have good politicians because good people won't run because it's such a dirty game. And if it's the latter, it will just be more proof to that point.

We are in the midst of a civil war. Americans do not realize it because no shots have been fired yet. But it's coming unless we alter the direction this nation is going in. I firmly believe that this nation must return to a more libertarian form of government or a civil war will be inevitable. If you're a conservative, evaluate your stance, and look into whether you should be a libertarian. If you're a liberal, evaluate your stance, and look into whether you really should be a libertarian.
Otherwise, we will become a nation of enemies. We will continue to be a divided nation, and we will become increasingly more opposing. The left is hating the right, and the right is hating the left. Militant moderates offer little more than people who are mixed on issues and brings no peace. Liberty is the only thing that can let us all live together. And if each side continues to infringe on the other's liberty, than civil unrest will be the result.
Understand, that when someone like me sees the mainstream media's attacks against Governor Palin and Joe the Plumber; while simultaneously the same media bends over backwards to protect their Obamessiah, such does not go unnoticed. Instead, I and others like me, begin to view such entities as the enemy. We see all the vitriole from the left, be it media, blogs, or the office banter - we understand that we are viewed as the enemy. And no, I am not too stupid to realize that it goes the other way too. I've seen the conservative blogs go beyond facts to demonization. And yes, I am fully aware that a number of talk show hosts can be full of vitriole. Truthfully, there are very few that I listen to or care for. Glenn Beck being one of the few that I truly enjoy and believe in. But I will also point out that ALL of those hosts are political editorialists and commentators. They're not the actual "news" being biased and spiteful - and that is a significant difference in perspective. Nor are they comedians who actually spend more time making political attacks than being funny. Sorry, your number one goal should be "BE FUNNY", rather than...how can I attack a conservative. Good comedians attack everybody, fairly, equaly, and that's part of what makes them good.
America...wake up!!!!
Return to liberty....
Or this nation dies a cancerous (and likely bloody) death....

Shortly after writing this post I stumbled across this article on the Huffington Post. It was a breath of fresh air to read such an honest introspective. Quite healing actually.
