I just finished reading
The Girls Who Went Away: The Hidden History of Women Who Surrendered Children for Adoption in the Decades Before Roe v. Wade.
Now I want to talk about babies. Let's talk about babies, guys.
Who on my flist has kids? How many? Were they planned, or were they a surprise? Have you ever given one up for adoption? (Or, alternately, have you ever adopted?) What was it like the first time you held them? I am starving for first-person accounts here, people.
People who don't have kids: Do you have any personal experience with babies? Nieces, nephews, cousins, friends' kids, siblings with enough age difference that you remember their birth? Does holding them have any effect on you, especially the first time?
