Life, hot guys, etc.
It's been a while since I updated, so hi!
Work is eating my life...like seriously, I'm busier (and more stressed) than I've ever been. The good thing is I now have an office and a window...the bad thing is that I now need to run meetings and make decisions and give people work to do and it's a ton of pressure. We're in the middle of a really intense project right now and it's just NON. STOP. It doesn't help that our clients are basically the least helpful group of people ever. Every time I think a part of the project is done and I can sit back for a second to relax, something else comes up and leads to like 3 more days of intense work. Usually it goes a little something like this:
- Find out we have 3 days to write a report
- Gather data, draft sections, send 5 emails to client saying "This is what we're doing, let us know if you have questions/changes"
- No response from client
- Give up waiting and send draft to client
- Call client to say "Just wanted to make sure everything looks good"
- Client has not read report or any emails
- Day before report is due - "We just read the report and have major changes"
- Stay late making changes
- Send updated draft to client. Yay, finally this report is going to be done!
- Client, the next day: "We got an extension on the report because it needs to be reviewed by the some other office, by the way can you travel 2 hours away tomorrow to present this to the other office?"
- Me: ARGH.
I found out we had a good chance of getting a project in LA and quietly freaked out with excitement. Turns out it may not be as sure a thing as we thought, BUT, if I do get to go out to LA, I may need to recruit some fandom friends to join me for stalking - who's in? :-D
Anyway, needless to say, I had to drop out of the RPF Big Bang :-( The words and ideas are all there (too many of them, in fact), the only thing stopping me is time, and a bit of motivation. Think I'm going to start writing my Jim/Bones Christmas fic soon so I can at least finish that by December... Also my laptop is basically dead now, and I haven't really gotten the hang of fic-writing on my iPad. Oh, and I've started playing Plants vs. Zombies, and that's killed any additional productivity I may have had. I've pretty much slowed down on fanfic reading too, though I did read Observations and started reading Switch...I'm about halfway through, and was really enjoying it, but I took a break to read the Percy Jackson series, ha :-) I just finished the fourth book so I should be finished that soon, then I'll try to get back to the fic.
That's about it for me...we also took a little vacation to Tennessee, which was fun, but I'll try to make a separate post about that some time. For now, have some pretty pictures to thank you for your time :-D

In conclusion, I am still around (always checking LJ, if not commenting/posting), life is crazy, and I hope to write more soon (and yes, I know I always say that, but I don't care...as long as I keep saying it, I believe it, and that's all that matters!)
