OK, so I've been a bit rubbish at updating my journal lately. Don't know why, really. Not like I've been doing much.
I've decided to go to the LARP at the end of the month. I phoned one of the arrangers and asked if he thought it could work, with me as the only one from my group, and after a week or so he called back and offered me to stay in his camp, with him and his mum (yes, he larps with his mother!) which is really a bit of an honour, I think. It means that a will tag along with him a lot, and he is a really central character in the campaign. It also means that I will get my plots really, really late, like in the car on the way there. They are giving me a ride from Sthlm, which means much less hassle getting there. Now all I have to manage is to get myself *and* all my larpy stuff from here to Stockholm, which will be no mean feat...
I'm both excited and nervous about it. What if I screw up, or get tetchy and horrible, or just boring? I need to supplement a lot of my stuff, too -- I've got thin linen and cotton trousers I can use, but I need a new pair of warmer trousers for cold days or night since the pair I used last time are too small now. Warmer gear on the whole, actually. And more shirts. And a bag. And a pair of sturdy leather boots for running around in the wet wild woods... So, a lot of sewing and flea market visiting in the two upcoming weeks. I need to get started, but I'm kind of dawdling.
My mp3 player came last week, and stopped working after two days, so I've returned it to iriver, and hopefully they'll give me new one. I guess I should have listened to
tattycat... But still, they just can't refuse me a new one, or at least a free repair. I just hope I'll get it before my trip. I can't read on the high-speed trains, so listening to audio books and plays is my salvation.
Exercise is going so-so; whenever I think, "Now is a good time to go out for a run/walk," it invariably starts raining. I've started doing puny little push-ups and sit-ups, though. Maybe it will do some good.
In a bit over an hour I'm off to see the new HP film, which premiered here last night, with
acropetal. I hope it's not going to be too unpleasant with the torture lady.
And last night
pnr came over and we had cheese curd pudding (ostkaka) with cream and wild rasperry jam, and ginger snaps that she had made, and watched A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back. Ah, it was far too long since I saw them last. And I actually managed to think of a birthday present for her, that I could make myself in quite a short time, too.
