A friend just called and asked me if I had any good, oldfashioned worksongs up my sleeve. It wouldn't do with farming songs or shanties; it was for builders (preferably cathedral builders). A "Hi ho, hi ho, here we go to our most satisfying and meaningful work day" type of thing. I must confess that I am at a loss (perhaps the concept is too alien to me, who knows). Anyone?
Today I'm going to try and get a new driving belt for my ancient old gramophone player. Then I'll be able to listen to my Leonard Cohen and Simon & Garfunkel records again, among other things. Wish me luck.
